Calif. Bill Would Give Free P.O. Boxes to Human Trafficking Survivors

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — California Secretary of State Alex Padilla is supporting legislation, that would provide free post office boxes, to survivors of human trafficking.

P.O. boxes are already offered at no cost, to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Padilla says the service is vital, to the ability of survivors to communicate with those trying to help them.

Last year, national human trafficking hotline calls resulted in more than 1,300 cases from California, which is nearly twice the figure of any other state.
