WalletHub: CA Ranks 21st When it Comes to Well-Being of Women

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — According to a new WalletHub report, women outnumber men in all but a half-dozen states.

Yet, they still account for nearly two-thirds of those earning minimum wage, and in some regions, the majority of those in poverty, as well those without medical insurance.

WalletHub examined 19 key indicators to rank each state.

California ranks 21st in the nation.

The gets high scores when it comes to women’s life expectancy at birth, preventive health care, and the share of women-owned businesses.

However, the state ranks dead last, when looking at median earnings for female employees, and 46th, when it comes to employment among women.

Minnesota, according to WalletHub, is the best state in the nation for women, while Mississippi, is the worst.
