FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Resumes, cover letters, and portfolios are what many consider to be the essentials, when it come to launching a career.

However, something that’s getting increasing attention, is your social media presence.

A new Creative Group survey finds that more than 60 percent of advertising executives, and 44 percent of marketing executives, dig up online information about prospective new hires.

Of those, nearly half say they’ve decided not offer a candidate a job, due to inappropriate postings.

Experts say what happens online, often stays online.

Questionable photos, unbecoming remarks, and other signs of ill judgement can harm your job prospects, be it tomorrow, or further down the road.
