FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — As gunshots rang out Monday afternoon at Courthouse Part, people scrambled and officers darted to the scene in downtown Fresno.
A 64 year old homeless man, an innocent bystander sitting on a park bench, was struck and wounded. He’s expected to survive. The apparent targets, two men, survived and were detained for questioning.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department have identified the shooter as 24 year old John Major. He’s been booked on three counts of attempted homicide. Detectives found Major’s gun, which witnesses say he tossed as he tried to run from the scene.
The shooting is thought to be gang-related.
