FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Some Starbucks customers are threatening to boycott Starbucks after it’s CEO announces plan to hire thousands of refugees.

Starbucks took a stand against President Donald Trump’s executive order barring immigrants from seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the US.

On Sunday, CEO Howard Schultz wrote in a letter to employees that Starbucks planned to hire 10,000 refugees worldwide in the next five years.

Many customers took to social media, supportive of Starbucks’ actions, others threatened to boycott.

Many were angry that Starbucks was hiring refugees instead of veterans.

Starbucks, however, does have a program in place to support veterans and their families, hiring 8,000 veterans and military spouses since 2014.

All the people asked outside a North Fresno Starbucks were supportive of Schultz’s move.
