FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A federal judge here in Fresno has tentatively ruled that the State of California may require chemical giant Monsanto, to place warning labels on its weed killer Roundup.
Monsanto had sued the Golden State, claiming that allegations of roundup causing cancer are unfounded.
The chemical is not presently restricted by the federal EPA, although it recommends that people avoid entering a field for 12 hours after it has been applied.
California would become the first state in the union to require warning labels on roundup, if the proposal is implemented.
