Defense Dept. Buries Report Outlining $125 Billion in Waste

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A study showing $125 billion in administrative waste by the Pentagon was buried, as bureaucrats feared that Congress would further reduce defense spending.

It was conducted by the Defense Business Board, and outlined what it referred to as a “clear path” to saving that sum over five years.

The plan included attrition and early retirements, curbing the use of contractors, and improving the use of technology.

However, the data was deemed unrealistic by Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work, who subsequently imposed secrecy restrictions on it.

The Pentagon is not commenting.
