UPDATE: Fresno Police announce they’ve booked 23-year-old Deandre Jean-Pierre into the Fresno County Jail on one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.
(KMJ) Fresno Police say they’ve caught the man they believe is responsible for a rash of groping incidents near Fresno State.
FPD issued only a brief e-mail Saturday: “No suspect information is being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation: more information will be provided Monday by the Department. ”
However, Fresno State officials got ahead of the curve on Sunday identifying the arrested suspect as a student, 23 year old Deandre Jean-Pierre.
On Thursday two more women, ages 40 and 19, told police they were assaulted by the suspect. Investigators say the man, whom they are not identifying yet, may responsible for as many as 8 attacks on females.
Most of the incidents occurred near Bulldog Lane and Millbrook as well as Barstow and Cedar.
