(KMJ) – The suspect wanted in the murder of a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputy is found and arrested in Tulare County.
36-year old David Machado was arrested by Lindsay Police with the assistance of Tulare County Sheriffs Department around Noon Sunday.
Law enforcement officials say Machado was in the area of Lindsay attempting to steal a woman’s purse when he was arrested.
Deputy Wallace was on duty in a sheriff’s car when he called for backup from additional units in regards to a suspicious person in a stolen vehicle. Stanislaus Sheriff’s reports that soon after he was shot and killed by the suspect.
“In seconds, he was murdered,” Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson said. “We believe that Deputy Wallace was killed outside of the car, and we know for a fact that the gun used in this crime was is direct contact with his head when the trigger was pulled twice. This was an execution.”
