‘Ballot Selfies’ Still Illegal in Calif.

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — So-called ballot selfies are against the law in California, but not for much longer.

A new law will reverse a 125-year-old provision of the election code, which prohibits you from revealing the contents of your marked ballot.

It doesn’t take effect, however, until January.

So, if you feel inclined to share your ballot on social media before then, remember that it’s technically illegal, although there’s no record of any Californians having ever been prosecuted.
