CDC: Calif. Leads the Nation in New STD Cases

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Golden State is seeing the largest number of new cases of sexually transmitted diseases.

According to the CDC, diseases like chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea, have risen significantly over the past 5 years.

STD prevention funding stagnated during that time.

The increase has been seen primarily among those between the ages of 15 and 24, who are otherwise healthy.
