(KMJ) – Central Valley respondents in a new study – say they feel unhealthiest out of those in any region in California.
The study, conducted by the Field Research Corporation, divides the state into five different communities: Los Angeles, San Francisco, the Central Valley, the South Coast and Inland Empire. Respondents in LA and the Valley were the most likely to have negative ratings of different community characteristics.
More than half of the Central Valley said they live in an unhealthy environment. 45% think the water is not healthy to drink. Just 54% think the Central Valley is overall a healthy place to live – which is the lowest among the five sections. 44% say the Valley is a safe place to live, free of crime – which also ranks the lowest. Just half said they believe it’s safe for their kids to play outdoors. Only 35% think the area is a good place to find a good job.
