FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Fresno County Board of Supervisors are addressing mental health issues in the Valley.

Plans for the construction of a crisis residential treatment facility passed on consent at the County meeting on Tuesday.

The planning director can now open up bidding for the nearly five million dollar project funded primarily with state grants.

County Supervisors are hoping to address a gap in the current system of crisis care.

The proposed site is just under two acres on the Southwest corner of Huntington Boulevard and Barton Avenue on the Kings Canyon Campus.

With 16 beds – it would be able to assist nearly 200 clients each year.
