(KMJ) The Mayor of Lindsay is stepping down, effective immediately.
According to a report by the Porterville Recorder, Ramona Villarreal-Padilla is leaving office to focus on finishing her doctoral degree in psychology.
She had two years remaining on her term in office.
A new mayor is expected to be appointed in the next two weeks.
