FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Highway 99 has been ranked the deadliest major highway in the United States.
A newly-released analysis by ValuePenguin finds there are 62 fatalities per 100 miles.
Most of those deadly accidents along the 400-mile highway occur in the Modesto area.
State officials are currently using about $1 billion from infrastructure bonds, to fund various repairs and upgrades along 99.
The second-deadliest highway in America, according ValuePeguin, is Interstate 45 in the Lone Star State.
