FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A 15-year-old Roosevelt High student was arrested for telling a student over the weekend that he would have clowns attack the school. The student made threats in a Facebook messenger chat room.
Fresno Police Lieutenant Joe Gomez says the incident is related to the ongoing threats where clowns are used to scare people. “[The suspect] threatened another student at Roosevelt,” said Gomez. “He told the victim that he had secret clowns in different rooms at Roosevelt High School and they were going to shoot the school up.”
The suspect also threatened to kill the victim’s family and sent a photo of a gun near a bottle of liquor to the victim.
The victim made a report that night and also told the Roosevelt student resource officer about the incident Monday morning. The juvenile suspect was booked at Fresno County juvenile hall for a felony count of making a terrorist threat and a felony count of intimidating a witness.
