FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno Unified held its annual State of Education Luncheon, on Monday, September 26th.

Superintendent Michel Hanson spoke positively of across the board improvements on state tests and graduation rates

“We’re very proud of our graduation rate which beats the state and the nation.” – Superintendent Michel Hanson.

Hanson says they are trying to give kids a more well rounded education, and programs like the Student Voices Campaign is one way they are giving the students more support, but there is still work to be done:

The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the school district.

Superintendent Hanson says the money helps launch students into their next phase no matter their financial circumstances.

Since 2012, Fresno Unified has raised close to $92,000 to support student achievement.
