(KMJ) Tulare County Sheriffs Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Veteran Detective Sergeant Mike Yandell was killed just before midnight Saturday in a single vehicle crash near Houston and Seventh Ave. in Kings County.
Yandell was 38. He is survived by his wife and two children.
“We are hurting with the loss of our friend”, Sheriff Mike Boudreax said in a written statement.
Yandell had been with the department for 16 years and served as the president of the Tulare County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
Sgt. Joe Torres, Vice President of the TCDSA, said “He sacrificed hundreds of hour of his personal time for the benefit of its members.”
The CHP is now investigating the fatal crash.
