FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — More than $2 billion.
According to AAA, that’s how much drivers wasted last year, buying premium fuel for cars that didn’t need it.
Researchers say pumping premium gas, which has a higher octane, doesn’t necessarily provide any benefits.
They estimate that about 70 percent of cars on the road require only regular fuel; just 16 percent call for premium.
