Study Reveals New Way to Potentially Combat Food Allergies

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Introducing babies to foods like peanuts and eggs early on, may lower their risk for developing certain allergies or autoimmune diseases down the road.

A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, suggests that the timing of food introduction plays a role in allergy risk.

In addition, giving a baby fish before they reach the age of 6-12 months, may reduce their risk for nasal allergies and hay fever.

However, researchers say more data is needed, before food guidelines should be relaxed.
