GOBankingRates: Americans Not Saving Much

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Despite higher median household income, savings accounts remain remarkably thin, according to a new GOBankingRates report.

The problem is most evident here in the Golden State.

69 percent of Californians have less than $1,000 put away.

One out of three have $0 set aside for an emergency.

GOBankingRates says California ranks second, when it comes to the number of residents living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Among other findings: men are more likely to have some cash put socked away than women, and Millennials are more likely to be saving than Gen Xers.
