FRESNO (KMJ) – The Central California Women’s Conference (CCWC) AND PG&E have announced that Andrea Shabaglian is the winner of the first She Makes a Difference Award.
Pacific Gas and Electric Company and THE CC-WC acknowledges one woman who has changed her life, her family or her community with her courage, strength and wisdom to make a positive impact.
“Shabaglian’s contributions embody all three of these traits.” -Anna Brooks, Senior Manager of Public Affairs for PG&E.
Shabaglian is the founder of MadeForThem, a non-profit which raises awareness & resources to combat human trafficking through design, fashion and arts.
Her clothing line is used as an avenue to combat human trafficking. Each garment has a tag with facts and statistics regarding human trafficking as well as a story of a survivor. Through the clothing, education is also being shared via each purchase.
“To be nominated as the first ‘She Makes a Difference’ award winner is a humbling honor to say the least, as there are so many women who sacrifice and work tirelessly behind the scenes to serve our community.” – Andrea Shabaglian.
The $5,000 donation will go to MadeForThem.org to continue to empower and offer opportunities to women who are survivors of human trafficking.
Shabaglian will be recognized at the 29th annual event on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center.
The event is sold out.
