FRESNO (KMJ) – Look to the skies tonight (Friday, September 16th} you will see the last harvest moon until 2024, but you’ll need a telescope to see it.
It’s called the harvest moon because historically, it gave farmers more time to harvest their crops.
Also, the moon will be eclipsed by the shadow of the earth and visible only for those in the Eastern Hemisphere – people living in Eurasia, Africa or Oceania – but unfortunately Americans won’t because we are part of the Western Hemisphere.
The moon – a supermoon – will still shine bright and large in our Valley region.
