FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Merely telling a teen to eat vegetables is usually not entirely effective.
But, how about tapping into their… shall we say… rebellious side?
New research shows that encouraging teens to eat more fruits and vegetables, because junk food companies are manipulative, appears to be a motivator.
University of Texas experts say if veggies are seen as “lame,” then the young have little desire to consume them.
however, if they’re seen as a way to fight back against injustices by the food industry, they’re a hit.
With more than one-third of teens and children overweight or obese, it’s worth a shot.
