FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Secretary of State’s office is keeping a close eye on voter data, following database breaches affecting Arizona and Illinois.
Foreign hackers have stolen information on hundreds of thousands of voters, prompting the FBI to warn states.
So far, California has not been hit by cyber criminals.
The Secretary of State’s office is currently working to centralize voter registration information.
The VoteCal database is expected to be up and running in the coming weeks.
