FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Studying is an integral part of education.
However, trying to squeeze it all in the night before an exam, is likely not the most effective method.
According to new research published in the journal Psychological Science, sleeping between study sessions, makes it easier to retain what you’ve learned, and relearn what you’ve forgotten.
The experiment is considered small-scale, but experts say the difference between those who slept between study sessions, and those who crammed, was evident.
Previous research has suggested that sleeping after learning is beneficial; but, this shows that sleeping between two learning sessions, can be an even better strategy.
