FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Fresno County lost 4,800 jobs for the month of July.
Government saw the largest decline, followed by educational and health services, along with trade and transportation.
However, manufacturing experienced an increase in employment.
The county’s jobless rate was up only slightly, to 9.3 percent.
Merced, Tulare, Kings, and Kern counties saw a drop in their unemployment rates, with a slight tick up in Madera County.
Statewide, the jobless rate is up to 5.5 percent.
