FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – All 99 buses in the Fresno Unified School District are now equipped – with wi-fi! The move is meant to make learning resources available to those kids who spend a lot of their times on buses – to make their time more efficient.
“This ensures that (kids) will have another opportunity to stay up, catch up and utilize digital books, textbooks while traveling on a district bus,” said FUSD Superintendent Michael Hansen. Hansen also said it gives FUSD kids an opportunity to stay in contact with teachers via e-mail and utilize the internet in their homework while traveling.
The bus wifi does block inappropriate websites, as well as Facebook – which can distract kids from learning.
