FRESNO (KMJ) – The General Services Administration -the agency that oversees thousands of federal buildings nationwide – is issuing a notice to be published in the Federal Register on Thursday –that employees and visitors must be allowed to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.
That’s over 9000 buildings in more than 2000 cities that are subject to the notice from the GSA.
In addition to an estimated one million federal civilian workers employed in those spaces, GSA Spokesperson Ashley Nash-Hahn told Buzzfeed News, that the rule covers anyone who enters the facilities—from people visiting courthouses to those stopping in at social security offices.
