Clayton Fire Suspect Served Time For Prior Offenses

Damin Anthony Pashilk

FRESNO (KMJ) – The man charged with setting the Clayton Fire has served time for prior offenses – drug possession, and driving on a suspended license.

40 year-old Damin Anthony Pashilk was booked into jail Monday, August 15th, on 17 counts of arson.

He’s suspected of setting numerous other fires in lake county over the past year – but was never arrested for arson, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Pashilk has a history of drug and driving offenses in Lake County dating back to 2006.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Pashilk’s arrest caused anger amongst Lake County residents, when Sheriff Brian Martin unveiled a large photograph of him, some members of the crowd yelled “burn him” and “string him up”

Firefighters have made progress battling the latest blaze, holding it at 4,000 acres and increasing containment from 5 percent to 20 percent.
