FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The average American is 15 pounds heavier and not any taller, compared to 20 years ago.
That’s according to the CDC, which says the average weight for men has risen from 181 lbs. to 196 lbs.; women have gone from 152 lbs. to 169 lbs.
Meanwhile, girls are about 7 pounds heavier than they were 2 decades ago, while boys are carrying an additional 13 pounds of weight.
Researchers are blaming fast food and a lack of exercise.
