GMO Food Labeling Bill Signed into Law

The president signs into a law a bill that will change the way you look at food labels.

The bill makes labeling of genetically modified ingredients in your food to be posted on package labels.

According to the Washington Post, the law requires most food packages to carry a text label, a symbol or an electronic code readable by smartphone.

But it’s going to take the U.S. Agriculture Department about two years to write the new requirements.

This new GMO food labeling requirements will also prevent individual states from passing their own GMO tabling laws.

Yet those who opposed the congressional bill think people without a smart food will not be able to fully see what’s in their food.
