FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — 8.5 million people, fewer than 48 percent of registered California voters, took part in the June primary.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla has certified the results, which confirm another low turnout.
With all the money, campaigning, and record voter registration, many had predicted higher participation.
However, Field Poll had a forecast of less than 45 percent, given the decline in recent elections.
