CA’s Largest Party Endorses Pot Legalization Initiative

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Back in 2010, the California Democratic Party declined to endorse a ballot initiative to legalize recreational pot, worried that it would harm its leading candidates.

However, this time around, the party is supporting the effort to legalize recreational marijuana, led by Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom.

Senator Barbara Boxer, who opposed Prop. 19 six years ago, says she’s likely to get onboard.

Although, fellow Democrat Dianne Feinstein is maintaining her opposition.
