FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A new report by the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office shows a tentative labor contract with California’s craft and maintenance workers, is the most expensive deal they’ve struck in more than a decade.
It adds $473 million over 4 years to pay and benefit expenses, for the 11,000 employees in Unit 12 of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
In 2015, salary and cash payments to those members, according to the Sac Bee, totaled almost $530 million.
In addition to the increase in compensation for the rank and rile, many managers and supervisors are also expected to get a raise.
