FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Supreme Court has cleared the way for voters to decide this November whether to approve Gov. Jerry Brown’s ballot measure, aimed at slashing the state’s prison population.
Justices say Brown did not violate the law, when he merged the measure with an existing proposal dealing with juvenile justice.
Brown’s initiative would allow certain felons convicted of nonviolent offenses to seek early parole, and restructure credits for good behavior.
