(KMJ) – A man caught on video clashing with Fresno Police at an anti-Trump rally on Friday is now in custody.
Fresno Police say the man, identified as 24-year old Rigoberto Vera taunted officers, yelled obscenities and also tried to remove officers’ batons. Officers recorded him using department body cameras and also gathered other intelligence from witnesses and the media.
On Monday, Officers reviewed the hours of video and audio footage and confirmed the man was Vera. Officers also found that Rigoberto Vera is a documented East Side Fresno Bulldog.
Around 1 p.m. Monday, Vera was tracked down near East Liberty and South Orange Avenues. He was taken into custody without incident. Officers say he was later interviewed and provided a full confession to the crimes; and also apologized for the assault on the officer.
Rigoberto Vera was booked into Fresno County Jail for numerous charges of assaulting an officer and attempting to disarm a peace officer.
