FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — 60 percent of likely voters in the Golden State support legalizing recreational marijuana.

That’s according to the Public Policy Institute of California, who says 67 percent favor an initiative to boost taxes on tobacco sales.

A smaller majority, 58 percent of likely voters, want to extend the temporary income taxes of Proposition 30.

The higher rates affect those earning more than $250k a year, with the revenue going toward healthcare and public education.
