Fresno State Basketball Star Arrested

EDO

(KMJ) – Fresno State men’s basketball player Karachi Edo is suspended indefinitely from the team after being arrested over the weekend on a domestic violence charge.

21-year old Edo, who is currently a junior, was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor battery and booked into Fresno County Jail just before 7 p.m. Friday. He was released Saturday after posting $5,000 bail.

Fresno Police say this incident involved Edo and a woman who the player had a relationship with dating back to when they were in high school in Texas. The woman and a witness told police Edo struck the woman with an open hand in the right shoulder.

Officers say Edo denied to the officers that he struck her and add that the victim had no visible signs of abuse.

Fresno State says it’s aware of the situation and working with the authorities, waiting for information.
