Clovis Double Murder Manhunt Shifts to Paso Robles

(KMJ)  Clovis Police are searching for the suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide – the first and second of 2016 for the city.

CPD says two women were found stabbed to death early Saturday morning at a home on the 700 block of Omaha Ave, near Nees and Willow.

A witness identified the suspect as 47 year old Dave McCann.  McCann is accused of stabbing his wife 36 year old Tierney Cooper-McCann to death as well as her mother – 68 year old Judith Cooper of Paso Robles.  McCann and his wife were in the midst of splitting up, according to witnesses.

“He’s running from the law in a rental truck,” Tom Roberts with CPD told KMJ’s Philip Teresi on Saturday morning.  The vehicle, a white Penske moving truck with Indiana plates, was eventually found, abandoned, in Paso Robles.  Now, detectives theorize that McCann is riding a mountain bike somewhere in San Luis Obispo County.

“We are treating him as he is armed and dangerous,” Roberts told KMJ.  Roberts would not discuss any possible past criminal history by McCann, who originally hails from England.

McCann is described as a 47 year old white male, 6’2″, 220 pounds, with brown hair, blue eyes and a British accent.
