FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — For the first time in 3 years, less than 90 percent of the Golden State is in a drought.
That’s according to the U.S. Drought Monitor, which attributes the slight improvement to El Nino.
100 percent of California was in a drought, back in October of 2014.
However, 21 percent of the state remains in an exceptional drought, including much of the Central Valley.
Water conservation efforts have accomplished their goal, and now there’s a possibility that the mandatory cutbacks will be relaxed.
