FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — After decades in the workforce, retirement is the logical option for the vast majority of people.
However, according to a new Oregon State University study, continuing to work later in life may extend your years.
Researchers say those who retired at least one year after age 65, had an 11 percent lower risk of death.
Those who worked a second year, had a 20 percent lower risk.
They say while it may not apply to everyone, work tends to bring many economic and social benefits, which can lead to a longer life.
