FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — With the rain coming to an end, 62 percent of California voters describe the shortage of water as “extremely serious.”

75 percent believe it’s vital for residents to continue conserving, and 80 percent plan to use similar levels, even after the drought is over, according to a new Field poll.

Researchers say Californians have been more worried during this drought, than they were during the major drought of 1977.

State reservoirs have been greatly helped by the winter storms, but the relief provided by El Nino is coming to an end.
