FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Tobacco use among middle and high school students hasn’t changed much in the past 5 years.

According to the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products, 4.7 million students were users in 2015.

However, the number of teens using e-cigarettes is up.

Here in California, some lawmakers are seeking to regulate e-cigarettes as though they’re traditional tobacco products, in addition to raising the legal smoking age to 21.

The tobacco industry is vowing to fight hard.
