Porterville Man Grateful To Life Saving Game Warden

GAME WARDEN TIM LITTLE

A Porterville man is grateful for a game warden – who saved his granddaughter, and her mother during the Valley Fire.

The fire was raging, and Bob Phillips says his 18-month old granddaughter Jessie was with her mother in their home behind the fire line.

“They were just oblivious to what was going on.” – Bob Phillips, Jessie’s grandfather.

The roads were closed and they were trapped, until a Lake County Game Warden (seen above with Jessie ) came to the rescue

“Game Warden Tim Little heard the reports and he worked his way through the fire, up to where he could get to them. He got them out, and with a neighbor and got them started down the hill, he then went around to a neighboring community and got a elderly disabled woman out of the path of the fire.” – Bob Phillips, Jessie’s grandfather.

Phillips says – it was a close call: “A tree fell on the house as he was leaving.”

Game Warden Little was recognized by the Governor’s Office, Tuesday, April 12th, and awarded the Gold Medal of Valor for his act of heroism saving the two women and the baby.
