(KMJ) – A toddler is now safe after she was left on the side of the road by the man who stole the car she was in Tuesday afternoon.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies say the girls father parked his car with his daughter in the car seat and left it running. He went to speak to an auto mechanic at a shop at the corner of Belmont and Pleasant.
That’s when Deputies say the suspect walked by and noticed the car was running. Video from the business shows him sneaking up to the driver’s door and taking the car — with the little girl still inside.
Deputies say he dumped her off, unharmed a few blocks away and may not have known the girl was in the back of the vehicle.
