(KMJ) Fresno – Campbell Soup will stop using the chemical Bisphenol A in its canned products.
The world’s largest soup maker, said it would completely switch to cans that do not use the commonly-used chemical for their linings in North America by the middle of 2017.
There are concerns that BPA raises the risk of cancer, brain damage and hormonal problems.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says BPA is safe at the current levels used in food packaging.
