FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Another study taking a look at the effects of persistent marijuana use.

According to researchers at UC Davis, regular pot smokers suffer more social and economic problems when they’re middle-aged, than those who only use the drug occasionally or never.

The data shows those who smoke marijuana at least 4 days week over several year, often have lower-paying, less-skilled employment.

In addition, they tend to be in a lower social class than their parents.

However, the study’s authors say their findings should not be used, in the heated debate over recreational marijuana legalization.
