FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — You might think your morning commute is stressful here in the valley; but, a new analysis of traffic congestion, might make you appreciate the drive a little more.

Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., and Houston, rank among the most congested cities in the nation, according to Inrix.

In 2015, drivers in those cities spent a sum of 8 billion hours stuck in traffic.

In Los Angeles, the average commuter wasted 81 hours last year, the most in the nation. San Francisco was the third-worst, at 75 hours.

What’s fueling the traffic congestion? An improving economy and lower unemployment.
