UPDATE: The Fresno Fire Department has established a donation site for 38 year old Fresno Fire Captain Daniel Lopez-Galvan.
Captain Lopez Galvan leaves behind his wife of 8 years – who was a stay at home mom, and the couple’s 11-month-old son.
“It just going to his wife to pay for unexpected bills that come along with the funeral type of expenses and help her get back on her feet.” -FFD Spokesperson Hector Vasquez.

The Fresno Fire Department is mourning the loss of a 15-year veteran.
38 year-old Captain Daniel Lopez-Galvan was killed in an accident — as he was working on his property, on March 10, 2016.
Fire Chief Kerri Donis spoke of the loss the Fresno Fire Department..
“He didn’t have to work here – he chose to work here because this is the busiest station he had a very strong following, his crew was with him for some time and its a big loss.” – Fire Chief Kerri Donis.
Lopez-Galvan leaves behind his wife of 8 years — and his 11-month-old son.
Fire fighters were heading into the city to pay their respects from Northern and Southern California.
